after 12 years of ownership, i’m finally moving from the 020 to the 02c.
i’m compiling a list using this very useful guide Chris put up on the website;
but i have a few questions, wonder if anyone could help?
The following driveshaft is listed; “Rallye or Corrado 2WD right hand front drive shaft p/n 191 407 271K”
What drivehaft is required for the other side?
Chris is working on his boat at the moment, he’ll respond in a few days once he’s done with that. Please stand by 🙂

Yeah no worries. I’m in no hurry, still very much in the gathering stage!
Ok, seems like the left hand side is the easy side to obtain, I searched for 191 407 271K and they are available everywhere on ebay.
It is the drivers side shaft that is hard to obtain, I searched for 191407272BE and they are very hard to find and expensive….
It may be cheaper to get a 2WD corrado/golf G60 right hand drive shaft and get it shortened by an engineering company
I found this on autodoc.

the details state that its 100mm trans side and 90mm wheel side, but I am not sure, in the applicable vehicles section lists both a g60 syncro and a golf gti, which wouldn’t be the case…..
I wonder would a passat g60 syncro front right be the same? –
I think it will be a bit longer, taken from here
https://www.cars-data.com/en/volkswagen-golf/front-track-width
the Golf G60 has a track width of 1433 mm
https://www.cars-data.com/en/volkswagen-passat-1-8-107hp-gt-specs/51574
& the Passat G60 is Front Track Width: 1479 mm
it will not fit as it is listed for the 2WD Golf 2s

That looks good, at that price I would just buy it, if it is to long it would be a good candidate to be shortened to the correct length
Thanks Chris, appreciate the advice. I’m going to buy it
