having bought a barely used clutch kit/flywheel for my cable change conversion, i find that the clutch kit is dual mass, actually from a golf 4. can someone tell me whether the rallye gearbox used single mass or dual mass, whether this flywheel will work with the rallye box, and whether i’d be better off trying to get a solid flywheel?

    1) Can someone tell me whether the rallye gearbox used single mass or dual mass? – Single
    2) Whether this flywheel will work with the rallye box? – Good question, Personally I have no idea.
    3) Whether i’d be better off trying to get a solid flywheel? – Probably yes.

you are indeed right i think chris, thanks for the quick response. i’ve just ordered a solid fly + clutch kit from tsr for just over 300 quid better safe than sorry i think. ps sorry i haven’t got back to you about the cable changer, someone sent me one from a 96 passat tdi which should work as i think it had the same model gearbox..

I checked in ETKA, and it looks to me like the 96 Passat shifter should fit

very kind of you, thanks for the helps. it just arrived by white van and looks like a much more likely lad than the mk4 shifter i got with the box.
