I recently had new driveshaft seals fitted to my VR6 Syncro transfer box but two weeks later they were leaking!
The company that fitted them has told me they must be leaking because the transfer box is so worn mentioning the bearings and the casing itself.
Is this likely when the transfer box does not whine or rumble and it came as part of a reconditioned gearbox?
Any advice you can give me is appreciated because I do not like being fobbed off if that is what they are trying.
    Cheers.

They probably have not reset the preload on the bearings properly, or torqued up the rear drive flange to the correct figure (which is a massive 350 newton meters (with pre oiled threads)) that 258 lbs/foot.

You really need to have the manual to rebuild a transfer box,
you cant just guess it & hope for the best!

Without telling them the correct figures, you could just ask what preload they set the front bearing to & also what torque they tightened the rear drive flange to!

Make sure to ask for the specific numbers that they set things to, cos I will bet they do not have the correct figures, if even any figures at all [;)]
