Well I moved to the UK in the very end of 2004 and I bought my Jetta in 2005 for a whole £100. Think it was one of the first in the UK. Here are some pictures of when I first got it ha ha. Was riced out and used by a place in Glasgow for advertisement.
I daily drove it for quite a few years after putting an ABF into it. Also got front and rear ends rebuilt with all new stuff fitting rear disks and 280s on the front. Whole interior was also gutted and I fitted a golf G60 dash as it had the c spec hard plastic dash. Also got electric windows and mirrors along with cruise control from the US fitted. Also chucked in some gti recaros for good measure.
wow rare find! how’s it looking nowadays then?
[hmm seems you’d posted more pics before I’d refreshed the page, only saw the original ones]

I’ve been trying to add some photos but man it’s labour intensive on this forum. I’m not sure if you can see my build tread on my local site unless you are a member but I’ll post a link anyways.

As I have done a bit to it and the last photos I tried to upload failed.
While I am no expert on posting photos, I wonder could they possibly be to large to post?
it does say ‘Maximum file size allowed is 10 MB’.
very nice!
All pictures I have tried to post are under 10mb as I did see and heed the restrictions to file size. Though is the size restriction to each file or all the files?
Trying to attach a picture of how she stands at the moment. Though half the floor is cut out as I have new vw floor pans going in.
I am not sure but might it be all the files together in a single posting?
Think I have figured it out. I am using an iPhone and they no longer save images in jpeg but heic or something like that. Guessing the forum doesn’t support this format.
Some work today.
So, not much has happened lately. Though my other floor pan arrived from Germany yesterday.
Looking for some information. Are the rear hub the same as the front hubs? Been looking for some but haven’t seen any listed as for the rear.
Also the tank I got came with a sender with a pump but sadly the pipe connecting the pump and sender looks corroded away. Is it easy enough to modify a normal pump to work in a syncro tank? I saw there was a link on here for it but its dead sadly.
Thanks!
I have some pics of my gti->syncro in-tank pump conversion, but I’ve not been able to locate them yet. I will keep diggin..they gotta be on the network somewhere :-\
It needed both a gti in-tank pump and a syncro nozzle thing, and then the two could be bodged together relatively easily and solidly, though there might be some leeway with that..

Well I’ve not had the time I’d like to work on the Jetta.
Here is a photo of what I found inside my syncro tank. Was thinking of trying to replace the pipe that’s rotted away.
Could someone give me measurements on the lengths of the pipe.
Try the picture again.
