I have a 2.0L 16v engine and some R1 carbs. I have sorted the fueling side out, hopefully! But am wondering what wiring I am going to need to put this into my mk2 syncro so that I can get a spark.

I decided to go down the carb route as i thought it would be easier to sort the fuelling and that the wiring won’t need changing as drastically, and the most important bit, the noise!

Have had a root about on here for some relevant info but cant find anything (sorry if there is something). Any help is appreciated, thanks

Right, well have decided to go down the Megajolt route, Is there anyone who has this system set up on there car with carbs?
If so are using it with a throttle position sensor, or with a vacuum across the inlet manifold?

large carbs require TPS to be used, MAP signal is to unstable and disapears at quite low throttel angel at the lower end of the rev range

    Thanks Dannyp,
Is this set-up something you have run before, or something similar?
Did you find the MegaJolt system straight forward enough to set up?
Ow and Lastly I should be fine to use the TPS that is factory fit on the carbs?

i’m running MS2-extra with throttel bodies now

cant comment on megajolt but it should be easy enough to set up if ms is anything to go by.

I have posted a link on my car build page for a site that shows how to dismantle and clean R1 carbs, also goes into tuning and installing, it is good to follow with plenty of pics.

The link is just next to the pics of my carbs
