I was just wandering around internet and i had this great idea. Is it possible to fit T4 transporter lockable diff to country? What would it need other than time and money? It is coupled to VC and it looks lot like ones with haldex systems so dutchbuild differential bolt/upgrade kit would be fine.
Ratios are wrong that i know 13/21 0r 17/27 but is it somehow possible to use other angle drive or maybe with original internals of syncro golf diffrential?
Or is it just a waste of time?
Um, see my post a few down..?
Just getting started, I’ll post a little more when I get the front bracket done on it…
I did see it. Just tought it was different diff. Is sharan also equiped with that proper knob you can pull to lock reardiff?
Yep, it’s got a little lever coming out the left top side you see that’s got the aluminum cover.
Dutchdub bracket needed clearancing on that side, as will a hole in the top of the bracket for that lever to get full range of motion.
Pretty sure it’s the same diff, T4 to Sharan. I’ll get part numbers together & we’ll see for sure!
Cant wait to see your project getting complished. This is one of cool upgrades/mods to do for Country. How much did you pay for diff? do you use that vc wich is countrys original?
I forget how much I paid… $200-$300? It’s a brand new unit from a transmission shop, and they couldn’t remember where they got it, or why.
The VC is roughly the same size as the Country’s. The way it attaches to the T4/Sharan rear diff is totally different than the Country, though I believe it attaches to the propshaft similarly. So the 2 VCs are not interchangeable…
Ok. I shall follow your topic instead of this.
