6spd golf Tdi 4-motion gearbox

Does anyone know if the above gearbox from the later Golf / Audi A3 will fit in the Syncro? Preferably with the 2.0 TDi engine? I need more power and better fuel consumption!!!

No, I just want a 6-speed box and diesel for more economy. I was hoping to keep the rear as it is!

What you can do is to combine an 02M 4Motion gearbox with the gears from a 02M FWD Tdi gearbox. If you can’t get your hand on a gearbox fom a Tdi 4Motion 6-speed. But they are rare.

i`m not being silly but your car is syncro 4wd?
if so the ratios from the 6spd transfer box will be different for the syncro rear diff, you will need to swap it for the haldex rear diff other wise it wind the syncro diff up and break
