I have the original bill of sale from VW/Audi dealership in Colindale, NW London dated 28/10/88 for a grand total of £12,400 + £100 road tax.
Lots of receipts and history for various work carried out on the car
Was off the road between 2008 and 2015
Good bits
Solid car – sills/front jacking point have had some recent welding to get through MOT
Drivers side rear arch recently replaced to a high standard
No rust on jacking points, sills, A pillars or around filler cap
No bolster wear on seats
Gearbox/rear diff oil recently changed
No crunches when changing gear, silky smooth change.
Not many Syncros left on the road now (Approx. 30)
Fun to drive
Not so good bits
Roof is crazed
Could benefit from a respray
Small amount of rust on lower rear panel
Rust on front OSF arch
Rust and dents on bonnet
Small amount of rust around wiper hole on scuttle
Holes in rear parcel shelf for previous 6 x 9 speakers (not my taste)
In summary this is an honest car that drives well. It would make a great small project for someone who would be looking to invest some love, time and money into it. It will be well worth as this has the potential to be a future classic!
NOTE: The wheels shown in the pictures are not included in the sale. These have been lent to me by a friend and will need to go back to him once the Syncro is sold. I have some 13” wheels that can be put onto the Syncro to get the new owner home.
Located near Havant, Hampshire.
If you have any questions or would like any specific questions answering please let me know. PM or calls on 07793 411622. I really encourage anyone potentially interested in the Syncro to come and view it!
I am looking to get £2,200ono for it (not including wheels in pictures). In my opinion this is a good but fair price when compared to standard 2wd mk2 golf which don’t have the benefit or ‘rarity’ of the Syncro models.
