Hungry_Horse_1955Right, as my transfer box on the Country is on the verge of a complete meltdown, I’ve decided to go the 1.9TDi & 02A box route and save spending money trying to get the existing transfer box replaced/repaired!
I’m on the lookout for a 1.9TDi engine (I believe it is an AHU or 1Z engine). I believe these were used in the Mk3 Golf Syncro and the Passat in the mid to late 90s. They were probably used on other vehicles as well, but I don’t know which.
Has anyone got one of these engines lying around, complete with ancillaries and loom?
I’m also after a 02A gearbox and transfer box, anyone have one lying around?
Chris SThe Syncro box is 02C, & you will need the Diesel version of the gearbox (CTT) or the ratios will be to short

Hungry_Horse_1955And they have the associated 1Z engine, all for a smidge under EUR1100! Is that good? I can’t see whether it has a wiring loom with it though.
Obviously I would like to get something a bit closer to home, but I could drive there and back in a day. Hmmm! Needs serious consideration.
Chris SWell you are not going to get one of them in the UK as the G3 Syncro was never imported!
