Hi folks,
A couple months ago I bought a Passat B5 TDI Syncro.
What I would like to know is if it is possible to swap some parts or complete gearbox to get lower top gear ratio (lower RPM).
What I have found so far is this:
Engine: AFN 110hp
Gearbox: EEP (01A?) 5 speed
Final ratio: 35/9
I don’t know the ratios of the individual gears yet.
I don’t understand the relation between the EEP and 01A designation. Can someone shed some light on the gearbox designation/types.
Is it possible to swap the 5th gear on this box as it is on the 2WD 5 speed boxes? Does the 6 speed (01E?) box fit in my car? Is the 6th gear taller than my 5th gear? Is the FR different in the 6 speed box than in mine 5 speed box? What is the ratios on the box fitted to the 2,5L TDI v6 engine? Does that box also fit the 1,9L engines?
I see it is a lot of question, but I hope someone can sheed some light on this topics.
Thank you in advance
